What a crowd!  It was another great day for the daffodil u-pick at Three Sisters Farm.  I'm not sure how many folks we had. I kinda lost count, but it was a hugh number.  Everyone seemed to have a great time ... especially the small kids.  They are fun to watch because they get so excited about the flowers.  We also had a group of artist from the local Pleine Air Society who painted all morning right out in the field.  They produced some beautiful work.  Concerning your cut flowers, they should last at least a week or more if you look after them. Keep them away from direct light and in a cool part of the house if possible … the cooler the better. Change the water regularly and only mix daffodils with other flowers that don’t come from bulbs and only after the goopy stuff from the daffodil stems comes completely out. This clear gel stuff can be poisonous to other flowers and roses. And lastly, check for any damage on the stems. A small nick can let in an air bubble which blocks the daffodils ability to soak up water. Happy arranging.
